To extend the value and potential of our Advanced Leveraging technology, MultiCorpora incorporates the ability to connect to external translation memory and terminology databases. This integration will save MultiTrans Prism clients time by not having to retranslate what another individual, somewhere in the world, has already translated. The MultiTrans Prism Advanced Leveraging TM effortlessly connects to MyMemory. From a user's perspective it works as if you are working with an additional translation memory database. The integration essentially moves external corpora right into your editing environment as another virtual local translation memory! The MultiTrans Prism Translation agent first looks for matches in your TextBases. If you have set the "MyMemory" option and there are no exact matches in your own TextBases, the MultiTrans Prism Translation Agent will automatically send a request externally and you will receive the TM references to any exact or (75% or greater) fuzzy matches found there.
MyMemory
MultiTrans Prism includes integration with MyMemory, a linguistic collaboration platform with over 200 million professional contributions. MultiTrans Prism connects to MyMemory in real-time, providing translators with suggestions from the collaboration of many professional users. MyMemory will provide suggestions to the translators only if the sentence being translated is at least 75% similar to one previously translated. This vast database of human translated content exists in English, French and Italian. The translator using the suggestion and making changes to it contributes collaboratively thereby improving and growing MyMemory's database. MyMemory is a segment web-based collaborative TM that uses a matching algorithm to provide translations for your source text. Just like traditional TMs, MyMemory stores segments and their translations, supporting translators with exact and fuzzy matches. With MyMemory translators work collaboratively to build and enhance a multilingual, multi-industry TM for all members to benefit from. It is not your own personal translation memories that will be shared, those will never become exposed, however since this is a collaboration tool, if you use MyMemory's data, you must reciprocate by submitting any data that you found, edited and used.
