Provides all of the MultiTrans features that are needed by translators.  This license is ideally suited for professionals focused mainly on translating projects without the need to manage the MultiTrans TextBase TMs and TermBases.

MultiTrans™

Lookup License

Provides all of the capabilities for creating, managing and searching MultiTrans TextBase TMs and TermBases.  This license is primarily for reviewers and translators who do not require translation editor integration (ie: MS Word), project analysis, or reporting capabilities.

XLIFF Editor

This editor has foundations in the OASIS XML Localization Interchange File format (XLIFF) and is ideal for translating HTML, XML and tagged formats.  The XLIFF Editor serves as either a stand-alone translation editing environment or as a front-end to the MultiTrans centralized TextBase TMs and TermBases.  It can also connect to external sources such as machine translation engines.

It is a translation editor for multi-format documents and features an easy-to-learn and easy-to-use, uncluttered editing environment that is specialized for tagged file formats and Microsoft’s Office 2007 suite.  Users are able to customize their own import/export filters for different types of XML formats.  It currently supports a wide range of formats, including: HTML, XML, InDesign, XLIFF, and other publicly available XLIFF transformation filters.  The MultiTrans XLIFF Editor is designed for ease of use, includes all the functionality of the MultiTrans Translation Agent, and takes the complexity out of translating tagged formats.

Enterprise Server

MultiTrans’ Enterprise Server provides a scalable collaboration platform for sharing centralized TextBase TMs and TermBases in real-time across many distributed MultiTrans users via a network, intranet or the Internet.  It enables many users to search, share, view and update the TextBase TMs and TermBases concurrently and in real-time.  The moment a user adds a term or corrects an alignment, that new language asset can instantly be accessed and used by other language professionals.

(Available for both MultiTrans TextBase TM  and MultiTrans TermBase.)

MultiTrans™ Advanced Terminology Server (for TermBase) 

Allows for highly flexible, fine-grained TermBase information access management.  Administrators can control the distribution of records and control what information is available to whom.  For instance, administrators can define records that are only accessible by the translation team and other records that would be accessible to all users via the Internet.  This way, one can have a centralized terminology database for all information that can be accessed by different users for different purposes.

This type of environment also facilitates the terminology approval workflow and creates strong synergies between authors and revisers.  The Advanced Terminology Server also includes the Translation Extractor (see next item).

Translation Extractor

The Translation Extractor uses sophisticated algorithms to extract terminology from an organization’s TextBases and identifies and retrieves the corresponding translations in multiple languages.  The system then displays a list of possible translations per expression for a user’s validation.  This unique approach enables organizations to quickly leverage the information contained in their TextBases into large and specialized terminology databases.  The Translation Extractor is included with the Advanced Terminology Server (see previous item).

Auto-Alignment Scheduler  

Enables the automation of the “List Builder” and “TextBase Builder” functionalities.  The Auto-Alignment Scheduler allows the system to automatically check a particular folder, apply a pre-defined document pairing scheme, and add the paired documents to a specified TextBase TM on a scheduled timeline.  This means that an organization’s TextBase TMs would automatically be updated on a regular, nightly basis (for instance) with all new pairs of documents that have been added or saved to a particular folder throughout the day.

License Server

Allows for the easy management of “Named” or “Floating licenses” without a need to license users on MultiCorpora’s license servers.  Once the licenses have been transferred to the license server, the client IT department can manage who gets which license and how it is distributed.  This approach greatly facilitates a computer park and license management.

Team Module

Enables sharing propagation memories in real time.  The Team Module will record, in real-time, every sentence translated through the Translation Agent.  In addition, the Translation Agent will query the Team Module at the same time as the TextBase server upon translating each sentence.  This means that translation in a team environment is facilitated because when working on a particular project, recycling of a newly translated sentence becomes available in real-time, without having to wait until the TextBase TM is updated.  Furthermore, the Team Module allows for real-time revision of the propagation memory segments and the propagation (Team) memory does not get added to the TextBase TM until after the project has been approved.  With this module, revision can begin on a project even before the translation is completed.

WordAlign Module

Allows the system to propose translations for sub-segment matches automatically, thereby providing an efficient method of translation at the word level.

With this module, users can view if a term has been translated multiple ways in other projects.  The system will also inform users of how often the specific term has been translated a certain way in all of their past translations so that the most common translation is identified first in the list with the respective usage percentage.  All this transpires without having to individually review all previously translated documents.

MultiTrans WordAlign functionality is available within many areas of the application including TextBase Search, TextBase Web Search, Translation Agent, Analysis Agent and Terminology Extractor.

FilterPack  Module

Facilitates  importing of over 250 file formats into the TextBase TM while increasing the speed of file conversion by up to 10 times.  Installing the FilterPack module completely eliminates the need to install MS Office on a corporate server. This module can operate as an add-on to any Server-side TextBase TM build such as the TextBase Server, the TextBase Auto-Alignment Scheduler and the TextBase Builder API.

Advanced Linguistics Module

The Advanced Linguistics module seamlessly extends the same functionality users enjoy with MultiTrans to users that have character based languages such as Chinese, Japanese, or Korean as their translation source documents.

TranSys

With this component, MultiTrans interfaces with a machine translation (MT) server.  When translating interactively with MultiTrans, if no full or fuzzy segments are found from the TextBase TM, a query can be made to the MT server for additional suggestions.

When pre-processing a document automatically, if no full or fuzzy segments are found from the TextBase TM, a query can be made to the MT server and the sentence will be replaced and identified as having come from machine translation.

One of the many benefits of TranSys includes the ability for sub-segment and terminology replacements for standardized/approved terms to be automatically replaced prior to the query being sent to the MT server.

TermBase Web

Provides users with access to TermBases via a standard Internet browser – no installation of software on workstations is required.  Basic configuration provides read-only (search) access to TermBases; however, an option is available to enable users to write to (or update) TermBases via the browser.  By providing users with secure access via their browser, TermBase Web cost-effectively enables users located anywhere in the world to easily find and use approved terminology in multiple languages from the central TermBases.

TextBase Web

Provides users with read only access to an organization’s TextBase TMs from a standard Web browser – no installation of software on workstations required.  By providing secure access via the Web, TextBase Web cost-effectively enables users located anywhere in the world to easily find and use relevant, in context, segments of information of any length from an organization’s reference documentation stored in the centralized TextBase TMs.

Like the desktop versions of MultiTrans, TextBase Web provides easy-to-use and powerful search features that quickly find information within distributed text repositories.

Flow MMX

(Business and Project Management Workflow)

A state-of-the-art workflow front-end to quarterback any service request or translation project from start to finish.  It puts project managers in command by allowing them to set up requests and track project history.  Project managers can confidently manage more projects because many repetitive tasks are fully automated.

The MultiTrans Flow MMX dashboard is a privilege-driven portal on which users can submit service requests, securely access data, and execute tasks.  It allows customers to upload documents of any size, request a quotation, and view requests and billing data details.

It enables service providers to bid on projects, accept tasks, and find all project files and instructions in one single location.  Providers can also create and submit invoices without ever having to leave the interface, and updated data is propagated in real time throughout the application, ensuring that project managers, customers, and providers are all working with exactly the same information.

MultiTrans Flow MMX filters the list of providers identified as suitable for each task based on their abilities, domains of expertise, and several other criteria.  The scheduling feature then allows project managers to verify providers’ workloads in order to determine to whom a task should be assigned.

With MultiTrans Flow MMX, the project collaborators are updated on milestones reached through automated email notification.

MultiTrans Flow MMX’s second-to-none workflow builder guides project managers through the different steps of a project’s life cycle.

This wizard-style feature has a unique graphical interface that allows project managers to quickly and easily customize workflows to fit the specific requirements of a job or a customer.

When projects repeatedly include the same type of documents and requirements, all a project manager has to do is apply a template to follow the chosen procedure.

MultiTrans™ APIs

MultiTrans APIs enable rapid integration with existing content management, workflow or other language processing applications.  APIs are available, for example, for organizations that want to automate certain administrative functionalities like TextBase TM building and updating, document analysis and pre-processing. 

MultiTrans TextBase TM Builder TMS Automation API

Reduce overhead by automating the creation and maintenance of TextBase TMs. Multilingual assets will continuously stay up-to-date with the automatic addition of all new translations – this includes TMs or reference documents sent by other collaborators or third parties.

TM updates are automatically triggered through MultiTrans.           

MultiTrans Analysis Automation API

Automatically compare incoming projects to existing language assets to determine the real effort necessary to complete the project.  The MultiTrans Analysis Automation provides reports with useful information such as amount of repetitions (both exact and fuzzy) compared to existing translations, amount of internal repetitions (both exact and fuzzy), full paragraph repetitions, sub-segment repetitions and terminology repetitions.

This automation also identifies which existing documents would provide the most references, and allows the extraction of terminology that repeats most frequently in the new translation project so it can be standardized at the start of the project which, in turn, results in realization of significant savings in revision costs.  One can also extract all of the existing standardized terminology (with translations) relevant to the new projects, to ensure the language professionals have access to this terminology without placing a burden on project managers and coordinators.  Any relevant full and fuzzy segment matches from TextBase TMs can also be extracted, allowing translators to reference existing translations without compromising the organization’s intellectual property. 

MultiTrans Pre-translation Automation & Machine Translation API

Shorten turnaround times on translations and benefit from improved consistency by automatically replacing full and fuzzy segment matches from the TextBase TMs, replacing standardized terminology, and identifying sub-segments that have already been translated.

Documents can even be completely pre-translated (even text not found in legacy documents or in terminology) with direct machine translation integration.  MultiTrans integrates with machine translation in a unique way – it will pre-feed known terminology from the MultiTrans TermBase in real-time to the machine translation engine, thus eliminating the overhead of maintaining custom dictionaries and increasing the quality of machine translated text.

Pre-translated documents can be provided to language professionals with a number of options including bilingual documents (bilingual RTF or XLIFF format) for non-MultiTrans users, but who still wish to leverage the information available from the organization’s language assets. 

MultiTrans Security Management Automation API 

The MultiTrans Security API allows an organization to provide access to its multilingual assets on an as-needed basis, and to revoke those permissions as well.  For example, an organization may wish to allow a translator to access its language assets only for a particular project.  That translator can automatically be given the appropriate permissions when the project is assigned, with those permissions automatically revoked upon project completion.

MultiTrans CMS Integration

Extends the functional benefits of an organization’s CMS to translation process by converting a Content Management System (CMS) to a Global Management System (GMS) via an API interface with the MultiTrans Advanced Leveraging Translation Memory (ALTM) solution.  A few of the industry’s most popular content management systems (Documentum, e-Docs, etc..) now interface with MultiTrans.  Integrating a CMS with a TMS provides better:

Security - Mitigate an organization’s risk by restricting the unprotected transfer of documents that require translation.  Organization’s CMS’s built-in security rules will ensure that documents remain secure throughout the entire translation process.

Ease of Use - Embedding translation workflow into the CMS means no more transferring documents and projects to and from users during the translation process.  Also, the automation means that users are not required to learn any new software.

Process Streamlining - Embedding translation workflow into CMS eliminates the inefficiencies of having multiple, disconnected workflows and extends the functional benefits of CMS to translation process.
