MultiCorpora was founded on the idea of improving the efficiency of translators. Our founder, Gerry Gervais, came up with the idea behind MultiTrans when he served as manager of a large Canadian government translation department. He wanted to create a tool that allowed better support to translators. From that need was born the idea of a corpus-based TextBase tool with revolutionary advanced leveraging capabilities. With Advanced Leveraging translation Memory (ALTM) whole paragraph matches are automatically identified and matches at a sub-segment level are identified. That means you can easily recycle the common phrases and expressions that occur in all languages and which are not identified by traditional translation memory tools. Likewise out terminology tools make the identification of terminology candidates (both phrases, expressions and individual words) easy. As you work on translating documents these terms are automatically identified and the translations supplied. Establishing good glossaries is a requirement for any translator and now with MultiTrans you can automate both the creation and identification of matching words in your working documents.
