MultiTrans ALTM Harnesses the Benefits of Machine Translation

TranSys maximizes efficiencies within your translation processes by bringing together two of the industry's most powerful tools.  TranSys is the result of combining the renowned MultiTrans Advanced Leveraging Translation Memory with components of the most popular rule-based machine translation tool on the market, Systran.  The end result is a cost effective translation solution that delivers "good enough" quality translations ready for distribution or ready for post-editing and revision.

TranSys uses your (domain-specific) terminology and your previously translated documents, in real-time, to enhance rule-based machine translation.  All approved linguistic assets are initially extracted from the translation memory, and the rest are sent to machine translation.  Simultaneously, as your document is being translated, the MultiTrans TermBase is feeding your approved terminology into the TranSys machine translation engine.  The end result, is superior machine translated content.

Key Benefits:

  • Shift from translation to simple post editing - lowering your translation expenses
  • Faster translation delivery times
  • Give translators more choices
  • Enable your organization to translate documents that you would not have translated in the past for budgetary reasons (i.e. Internal communications)

TranSys How It Works

How it Works:

Automatic Mode

  1. The document is sent to TranSys
  2. The TextBase TM analyzes and replaces all Exact repetitions found from previous translations. Similar but not exact, Fuzzy , repetitions that meet a predetermined level, set by the user (e.g. 75% match), are replaced automatically
  3. The TermBase replaces any approved terminology found within the remaining un-translated segments, and the rest is then sent to Machine Translation
  4. A fully translated document is returned to the user with color-coded results to increase the efficiency of post-editing (if necessary)

Interactive Mode

  1. Working within the Translation Agent (Word Editor or XLIFF Editor) the user is provided with choices for each segment of the document
  2. All Exact repetitions found within the current translation or found in the TextBase TM are automatically replaced. Similar but not exact, Fuzzy, repetitions are replaced at the user's discretion
  3. The TermBase replaces any approved terminology found within the remaining un-translated segments, and the rest is then sent to Machine Translation
  4. The user has generated a fully translated document with color-coded results to increase the efficiency of post-editing (if necessary)
